Secret Sister Swap for January and February

Happy Friday!  I hope that this post is finding you doing well.  Just like me I am sure that you are super happy that today is Friday and the weekend is just around the corner. Well today, I would like to share with you my Secret Sister swap that I made and received for the last round which is January and February.  The optional theme was Valentine's Day. Cyndi was my Secret Sister.  Check out the cute and fun products that she made and purchased for me.

I was  Kathy's Secret Sister.  I was a bit nervous to be paired up with her since she is very creative and always does very nice work with her creations.  I made her a card using the Iris Folding technique.  Yes, I am on a roll with making cards using this technique.

This is the RAK that I included with her card.

It continues to be so much fun participating in the Secret Sister swap and getting to receive happy mail each month with fun and creative cards and/or 3D items.  If you are interested in joining the swap let me know and I can give you more information. Before end for today I have two ono pictures to show you.  Both of them are from a restaurant Jolli Bees that my family and I went to last weekend for dinner.  They serve Filipino food.  Their hamburger steak was the best I have ever tasted. (It has onions, mushrooms, and French fries underneath the pattie.)

The gravy with the hamburger pattie was so good that I wanted to drink it.  Yes, it was that good.  LOL! This is the drink/desert that I enjoyed and loved.  It has taro ice and another kind of ice cream with variety of beans in it.

With all this talk and pictures about food I am going to grab a bite to eat.  I hope that that you will have a lovely weekend and will have some time to relax and of course craft.  Until next time, take care and God bless!

Cards and Gifts From the Heart

I hope that you had a wonderful Saturday and had some time to relax.  Mine was a very nice one with getting my hair cut, doing things around the house, running errands, and having a nice dinner with my family.  I like Saturdays like this.  Today will be just about the same.  I wish every weekend could be like this.  :)  Today I will be sharing the card that I made for a good friend that I had a belated Valentine's Day luncheon with on Friday.  I made her a card using the Iris Folding technique.

It was lots of fun and very relaxing making the card for her.  Here is a close up picture of the card. I surprised her with some of her favorites themed products as her RAK.

This is the card that she made for me and

the super generous RAK that she gave to me.

We enjoyed our time of fellowship, surprising each other with a RAK, and having lunch at Ahi Poke Bowl.  I surprised my friend by treating her out to lunch.  :)

Thanks for dropping by!  Have a wonderful Sunday and a blessed week ahead.

Valentine's Day Treats and Gifts

Happy Valentine's Day!  I was hoping to get this post done earlier, but I was feeling a bit under the weather.  Praise God through some much needed rest I am fine now.  :)  I hope that all of you had a lovely Valentine's Day.  My on the most part with exception of feeling a bit under the weather mine was very good.  These are the treats and gifts that I put together for family and friends to share some extra love with them today.  Unfortunately, my long distance friends will be receiving them a bit late since I got a late start on them.  (For the heart pockets with the chocolate in them the pocket is made using a die cut of a mini envelope where I just folded two of the flaps.  I originally only had the hearts with the chocolate, but I thought that adding the doily to them made it look a little more fancy.  The white part of the tags is a die and the heart is a punch.)

My daughter's room mom for her class collected money at the beginning of the school year for her to use for the teacher's gifts and  to get supplies and food for different parties different school year.  For Valentine's Day she got the teacher a gift card.  I made a gift card holder for it.

I made tags for my daughter's Sunday School teachers and attached them to a box of chocolates.

On the tags I either wrote "God loves you and so do we/I." or "You are special to God and to me."  Before ending my post for today here is a picture of my hubby and I enjoying our dessert after having a nice a dinner together yesterday for Valentine's Day.  (He had prawns for an appetizer, short ribs for his main course, and custard for dessert.  I had escargots and tuna tartar for my appetizers, duck for my main course, and crème brulee for dessert.

Thank you for taking time to come by to see what I have to share.  Have a good weekend everyone!

A Surprise B-day Party

What a blessing it was to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday with him, my family, and his friends on Saturday.  My sisters and I threw him a surprise b-day party at a Chinese restaurant with 60 guests.  One of my sisters went on the centerpieces and the other one worked on booking the restaurant and set up the itinerary for the afternoon.  I bagged the party favors and embossed tags for them  It was a bit more crazy than I thought it would be.  To make a long story short I had to tie 70 bows on Friday since I accidentally forgot to put the third snack into the first 40 bags that finished at the beginning of the week.  My fingers were sore when I finished.  LOL!  Here is a picture of one of the party favors.

We purchased 3 of my tags favorite snacks and ordered magnets with our family's picture on it and a Bible verse. Along with the party favors I put together scrapbook pages for the guests to write my dad a special message on.

Each of my sisters along with one of my BILs and my kids did tributes to honor my dad.  I made him a book with my speech in it for him to keep.  (God gave me the idea to use the letters in my dad's name to describe what I admire and appreciate about him.)

We had a 10 course meal

and a 3 layer Hawaiian cake.

Here is a picture of all of us at the party,

of my parents, my sisters, and I,

and of my hubby and I.

Now that my dad's party is done it's time for me to start my Valentine's Day projects.  Before ending this post I wanted to wish all of you out there that celebrate Chinese New Year

This the annual picture that my "twin" and I take together on Chinese New Year. Thanks for stopping by!
