Some More Celebrating

It was another fun weekend celebrating my b-day.  My family and I went out to dinner on Friday to the Spaghetti Factory with some friends from church.

It was so cool that I was sang "Happy B-day" to twice that evening.  Once at the restaurant

and a second time when we were at our friends' house.  They surprised me with a super ono mango cake.

On Saturday my family and I went out to dinner just the four of us to Green Street Restaurant.

I ordered steak with a cabbage salad

and my hubby ordered a Thai chicken, veggies, and rice pilaf.

My son ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and my daughter ordered spagetti. We all loved thier zucchini bread. Of course I got to enjoy being sung to again.

The huge piece of chocolate cake was super ono very light too. On Sunday after church we met our friends, Gail and James, from SF at Downtown Disney at the Rainforest Cafe.  They were down here visiting their daughter and asked us to go out to lunch with them before they left to go home.

My hubby and I ordered a delicious sampler platter that we shared.

My son order mini burgers and my daughter ordered a pizza.  Gail ordered a Chinese chicken salad and James ordered chicken wraps.  We always enjoy our time together and feel so blest to get to see James and Gail twice this month. Gail and I usually swap crafty items each month so instead of mailing her this basket I thought it was easier to give it to her in person.

I put a box of tea in the basket and also gave her come coconut patty snacks for her and hubby to enjoy on the way home.

Gail made me a cute card in some of my favorite colors.

After lunch my family and I spent the rest of the day at Disneyland.  It was the perfect day to have a relaxing time there.  I was especially happy to get to take a picture with one of  the mice from "Cinderella."  (My daughter was really excited too.) It's really rare to see her walking around.

I think this was only our second time that we've seen her even though we have been to Disneyland so many times. It was lots of fun getting wished "Happy B-day" by different cast members and guests at the park.  They all knew I was celebrating my b-day because of the special Disney pen I was wearing. It has been such a blast celebrating my b-day with family and friends.  I truly feel very blest to have such special people in my life.  I have a few more b-day celebrations to look forward to. Good thing I don't turn a year older each time I celebrate.  LOL!

Wild Things In Red

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope that everyone had a good week and that you will have an even better weekend.  My week was busy one, but my weekend is going to be even more busy.  At least it's a fun kind of busy.  :)  Well, today I would like to share last month's tea swap and card.  The optional theme was "Wild Thing" and the optional color was "red."  Even though the  color to use and theme of the card is optional my tea swap partner and I followed them.  As soon as I saw the theme I immediately thought of a monkey.  I used one of my sock monkeys to put on the card.  I was a bit stumped about how to incorporate the color "red" with a sock monkey.  This is what I came up with.

What do you think?  My swap partner, Monica made me an interesting card along with two smaller cards one of which she wrote in to share some fun information about herself.  She also made me a cute tea holder. I love the cross stitch on it.

She created a collage inside the main card that she.

I always think it's interesting to see how people interpret the same theme in such different ways.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope that all of you get to do lots of things that you enjoy this weekend.

Gifts and Tags for Administrative Assistant Day

Happy Wednesday!  I hope that this post is finding everyone having a good week so far.  Mine has a pretty busy one, but I am glad that I have been able to do a combo of things- spend time with family, craft, watch my favorite TV shows, and do paperwork for work.  As part of my craft projects this week I worked on making tags for Administrative Assistant Day which is today.  I made these tags to include with the Hawaiian

mugs and tropical dry fruits that I gave to the secretaries at work as my way of saying "mahalo" for all that
do.

Before giving it to them I put the mugs in a bag and attached the tags to it.

The Administrative Assistants at work are awesome and there is definitely nothing that I can give to them that equal the amount of work that do.  They are the best and I appreciate them so much.

My First B-day Get Together For This Year

So sorry that I have been MIA since last Sunday.  It was a super tiring week going back to work after having a week off.  After work I was working on cleaning my house to get ready for my b-day get together this evening.  Besides getting my house ready I was also prepping a project for my friends to make and making party favor tags.  This is what I came up with for the tags

and this is how it looks attached to the bag with the party favor in a bag.

I put tropical trail mix in each coconut.  This evening was the first of my b-day get togethers.

I will be having another one in a few weeks with 4-5 good friends.  It was too hard this year to get everyone's schedule to mesh with one date so I just thought that it would be easier to have two get togethers.  It was very a nice and intimate evening getting to fellowship with 4 of my good friends, enjoying a nice Hawaiian meal together

(Here is a close up picture of what we ordered for everyone- a BBQ mixed plate.),

and getting to craft together.

Here we are so proud of what we made.

Before having dessert I raffled off some retired SU stamp sets that I am looking for a good home for.  Each of my friends go to choose one set out of a basket as part of their party favor.  They were all really excited to get to have a free set as a gift.

After crafting together we had dessert- a mango cake.

I always feel like my b-day is a lot more fun when it is spent with the people that I care about.  Stay tune for some more fun festivities for my b-day with my family and friends.

A Fun But Busy Weekend

I hope that everyone has a good weekend with family and friends.  We started off the weekend by going to Disneyland after the kids got out from school.  It was the perfect afternoon to go because it was not too crowded and we got to be one of the first people to see the Iron Man exhibit.  Only annual pass holders got to see the exhibit on Friday.  My daughter and I thought it was neat to see the suits, but my hubby and son were super excited to see the suits.  Here I am with one of his suits.

Saturday I went to a monthly quilling class.  This is my friend Esther and I with the project that we made.

Then as usual after class we went out to lunch.  What we order is always super delicious, but this one was extra good.  Esther ordered a chili omelet and almond pancakes

and I ordered a Texas sandwich with a side of sweet potatoes.

These are the fun and creative items that we surprised each other with this month.  The box with one of the girls from Sister Stamps and the basket is what Esther gave to me along with a purse holder with a Bible verse on it.  She added riboon to the beautiful gift bag to make it look even more beautiful.

This is what I made and gave to her.

Saturday evening we went out to dinner to celebrate my FIL's b-day.  Here is picture of my hubby with his brothers, parents, and grandmother.

With such a packed day on Saturday I am glad that Sunday was such a light one with just going to church in the morning and doing things around the house for the rest of the day.  Thanks for sharing some of your day with me today.  Please visit again soon.

An Easter RAK

For Spring Break our family went to San Francisco.  It's such a fun place to visit that I was a little sad when we had to leave.  I'm still working on downloading all the pictures that we took so stay tune for  a post of some pictures of SF soon.  My spirits were lifted when I looked through our mail and saw that I received some "happy mail."  Two packages were from two of my favorite rubber stamp companies and the third one was from a good friend in HI.  She sent my ohana and I some ono goodies for Easter and a beautiful card.

A birdie must of told her how much I love chocolate marshmellow candies.   I checked out the calories for them.   If I ate one a day it shouldn't hurt me too much.  LOL!  I will be nice and share one or two of them with my family.  Since I am hogging up the marshmellow ones they can have the entire M&M bunny.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Crafting!

Crafting and Good Food With Good Friends

It was a very fun day today.  I spent the afternoon crafting and chatting with a good friend.  Everytime we have time off from work we try to get together.  Of course we always end up chatting more than crafting.  We were pleased though that we were able to get some crafting done today.  I came up with these Spring baskets for us to make.

Here is a close up picture of them.  The basket is made using the "Two Tags" die from Stampin up and the flowers are made using a die from Sizzix called

The we worked on making a frame for my desk as

well as a cork board.

My good friend knows how much I love polka dots and purple so everything she picked out for us to make together was based around them.  In the evening my family went out to dinner with good friends from church.  We went to a restauarnt called Soup Plantation.  For those of you who are not familiar with it, it's a restaurant that has a soup, salad, bread/muffin buffet.  You can also get ice cream or pudding for dessert.  Here is my delicious plate of food with my soup and muffins.

A day is always a lot more fun when it is spent with good friends.

Date Nights and Easter Gifts

Happy April!  I hope that all of you had a lovely weekend.  Mine was lots of fun not only because it was Easter, but because my hubby and I got to go on two dates in a row.  On Friday we went to watch Beauty and the Beast the musical.

It was our second time watching the musical, but we still loved it.  On Saturday, we went out to dinner at the Spaghetti Factory with two other couples.

Check out the delicious meals that we ordered.

Before ending today's post I would like to share with you the Easter treats that and tags that my family and I gave to family and friends.  I made a tag for our gifts using  framelits from Stampin Up set - Apothecary Accents Framelits.

The sentiment is also from Stampin Up.  It is from a set called   "Easter Blessings."    Here are some of the gifts that we gave.

I also made fifty or so of these treats for my friends and co-workers using the Two Tags Bigz  die from Stampin Up.

When you take the rabbit out there is another rabbit.  I made two versions of the treat- one with a verse on it (from a retired set from SU called "Faith and Hope") and another with a "Spring " sentiment (from a retired set from SU called "Spring Gifts").  Now that Easter's over I can relax a bit before I need to make party favors for my b-day get together. Thanks for stopping by.
