A Little Glimpse of Memorial Day

I was hoping to post last weekend or this past week, but I ran out of time and energy. I hope that all of you had a relaxing Memorial Day weekend last week.  I had a very nice one.  It started off with my hubby and I attending the annual 24 hour event at Disneyland.  We last 17 hours, 3 hours less than last year.  We think this year may be our last year attending an event like this because it was very tiring by time it hit 8 hours.  Here we are at approximately 3 hours into the event.

One of our favorites about the event was being to go as a single rider on the rides.  We were able to go on one of our favorite rides twice in row with only needing to wait a few minutes.  Another highlight was the special meal that we got to order- chicken and waffles.

Not only were the waffles super cute, but also extra delicious.  Although it was tiring, the event will always be treasured and remembered.  We brought two of their souvenirs- a Mickey hat with the name of the event embroidered on it and some of their pins. I made a topper for one of the pins that we purchased as a gift for a friend.

Of course on Saturday I went to bed as soon as I got home.  I slept 8 hours.  Thankfully my parents were taking care our kids so that I could get some much needed rest.  Sunday was a relaxing day with errands after church.  On Monday my family and I went to the California Science Center.  We have been there twice before, but this time around was more amazing.  We got the see the Endeaver Space Shuttle.

It was much bigger than I imagined it.  We were also went to the Pompeii Exhibit which was very nice, but sad.  Their whole city was gone within 48 hours of the eruption of the volcano.  We really enjoyed learning about the history of the people that lived there but felt devastated about the tragedy that happened to them. Here is one of the many people that was hit by the tragedy.

They had a simulation of the event.  It was scary enough just going through the simulation.  I hope and pray that some thing like this will never happen again.  I hope that you enjoyed seeing a glimpse of my weekend last week.  I can't believe that it was already a week ago that we went to the 24 hour event at Disneyland and to the Science museum.  Thanks for dropping by.  Have a wonderful weekend!

A Memorable and Ono Mother's Day

I can't believe that it has almost been a week since Mother's Day.  Time is sure zooming by quickly.  I hope that all of you had a nice time Mother's Day.  I always feel very blest to be able to not only be a mother to two fab kids, but also an "aunt" and mentor to many students in my life.  I especially thank the Lord for this honor during Mother's Day.  To honor the different grandmas, aunties, godmothers, and other special ladies in our lives we surprised them with a gift.  I made and attached this tag to their gift bags.

The stamps for the heart and the sentiment and die for the hearts and for the sentiment are from Stampin Up. For Mother's Day my kids gave me these super creative gifts

and a Disney Dooney and Burke purse.

Of course Mother's Day would not be complete without enjoying some good food.  On Friday, I enjoyed dinner at California Pizza Kitchen with my hubby and kids. This is what my hubby and I shared- a HI pizza and a carmalized peach salad.

With my hubby's family we enjoyed some Mediterranean food for dinner, but I forgot to take a picture of it.  It was sure yummy though.  For dessert we had a mango cake.

For Mother's Day dinner with for my mother we had Japanese food.

All the eating last week was sure ono and lots of fun, but a little much in terms of calories.  All week I tried my best to watch my calories and do my workout.

Some New Crafty and Fun Products

A little more than a month ago my family and I as I mentioned a few posts ago we spent our Spring Break in beautiful San Francisco.  While we were there we had a chance to visit one of my good friends Gail and her hubby.  For the past two years I usually give her b-day present a little early.  I usually try to get products for her that are hard to mail.  I made this card

and gave her a Japanese doll and a matching tablet.  I always think it's a lot more fun to give a gifts and cards when everything coordinates.

Both of us usually exchange b-day presents when we meet up, but Gail said that this time around she will need to mail it to me since she is waiting for it to arrive in the mail.  This is what she sent to me a few weeks ago.

She put the die into the holder that says "Happy B-day."

I love the DSP that she used for my card and gift holder.  I love the die too and can't wait to make some fun cards with it.  Thanks GF for such a generous and thoughtful gift.  Before ending this post for today I wanted to share some of the fun products I purchased while visiting SF. (I said that I would share some of the fun items that I purchased during my trip in SF awhile back so I am finally doing it today. Thanks for your patience.) During my visit there I went shopping at Michaels. There are Michaels stores where I live but they are nothing compared to the in SF.  There's is much bigger and a lot more fun items.  Here's my stash of goodies from there.

I also went shopping at Daiso, a Japanese knicknack store.  There are also Daiso stores where I live, but the products that they have in the one in SF is much better. I purchased some washi paper, Asian cloth tape, and felt.  I also purchased a couple of rubber stamps and some Asian cloth, but can't seem to find it right now. LOL!

Last but not least I went shopping in various stores in Japantown.

Japantown was my favorite areas to shop next to purchasing some clothes for work at the Ann Taylor outlet. If I lived in SF I think I would be poor and very chubby.  I love all their stores and their ono food too.  Even though we have been back for a little more than a month I miss being there already.  LOL!  Hopefully I will have a chance soon to craft using some of the products that I purchased.  I hope that everyone is having a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.

Celebrating With Good Friends

Yesterday was the last of my b-day celebrations for this year.  I had a super memorable time spending the evening with some of my good friends at one of my favorite restaurants, Claim Jumpers.  Unfortunately a few of them were not able to make it.  It would have been an even better evening with all of them present and if I could have flew my long distance good friends in too.  I made party favors for each person using my "We R Memory Keepers" candy holder maker.

I had so much fun making them.  I put my favorite candy inside.  The adults received coffee candy and the kids  received the fruit chews.

For dinner I ordered steak, coconut shrimp, and a yam.

Check out this huge burger that my hubby ordered.  It's called a "Widow Maker."

For dessert we had mango cake from one of my favorite bakeries and of course everyone sang "Happy B-day" to me.

At the end before we went our separate ways we took a group picture.  We were all surprised that we were able to all fit into one picture.

After the picture I thanked everyone for taking time to celebrate with me, expressed how I thank the Lord for each of them and their friendship and for being such a blessing to me all these years.  Thanks for dropping by.  I hope that everyone had a nice weekend.
