Two Special Days This Past Week

This past week was Administrative Assistant Day.  At work I have 4 fabulous secretaries that do so much for our work family.  We would definitely be lost without them.  As a special "thank you" I made them each a post it holder.

I purchased plastic frames and put cute polka dotted paper in them.  Then I personalized each of them and put a post it on each one. I think they turned out pretty cute.  This week was also my birthday.  I have been having lots of fun celebrating for past two weeks and look for to getting together with a few more friends soon. Here are few pictures of how I have celebrated so far.  Some friends took me out to lunch and we dropped by the Hello Kitty Café afterwards for dessert.

My hubby and kids took me out to dinner at my favorite Hawaiian restaurant.

The restaurant gave me a complementary coconut (haupia) cheese cake- my favorite.

My hubby took me out on a lunch date at a local steak house.

The restaurant gave me a complimentary dessert (crème brulee)

and a box of chocolates.

Stay tune for more pictures soon of happy times with family and friends to celebrate my birthday along with some fun birthday cards. Thanks for stopping by to see what I have to share.  Have a wonderful rest of your weekend.

Another Fun Round of the Tea Swap

Happy Saturday!  I hope that everyone is doing well.  Yes, I am up late.  It is 1:20am.  I thought that it would be best for me to write this post before I hit the sack since I have a busy day ahead.  I may be too tired to write a post at the end of the day.  Today I will be posting the tea swap from last month which had the optional theme "Tropical."  For those of you who know me that is one of my favorite themes since Hawaii is one of my "Happy Places."  I was fortunate enough to be paired up with my friend Carol.  BTW that is the friend that I went shopping with at Marker Pop.  I posted pictures of us at their warehouse a few posts back.  Carol made me two awesome cards.  Both of them are fabulous,

but the tea themed one is out of this world fabulous.  Check out how it looks when you open it.  Wowzers!  Besides the two cards she surprised me with some pretty ribbon and

This is the card that I made for her.  I made her a Hello Kitty themed tropical card since she is a big fan of HK too. Along with the card I made her a bow.  I put a HK button for the center. (Sorry I had a hard time cropping this picture on my computer.)

I put the bow on a box of tea cookies for her to enjoy with the teas that I gave to her. (Sorry about the flash from my phone that cause a spot of light on the box.)

It was definitely another fun round of the tea swap.  If any of you are ever interested in joining the swap please let me know. It's a fun way to meet new friends, receive cool cards and RAKs, and of course try out new teas.  Have a fun and crafty weekend!  Until next time, God bless!

Easter Gifts and Tags

Happy Easter!  I hope that everyone had a good Easter.  Mine was very meaningful with my family and I starting our Easter on Friday by going to good Friday service at church.  Then yesterday we went out with three other families to visit a church about an hour a half away to join their Easter program.  Today we went to Sunday School and to worship at our church.  Beginning from Friday God has reminded me through different songs and messages from the Bible that no matter what the circumstance as Christians we have hope because of what Jesus has done on the cross for us.  I praise God for that reminder.  If any of you would like more detail about what I am talking about please let a comment.  To celebrate that my Savior is Risen I made carrot magnets.

On the big carrots I wrote the message "No bunny loves you like Jesus."

I also made tags using the retired Lattice die from Stampin Up.

Lastly I asked my hubby to draw a cross on some eggs for my Sunday School students.  I left the eggs empty to remind them that "Jesus is Risen." The two egg shells are supposed to symbolize the empty tomb. Thanks for stopping by! Have a good week everyone!

February-March's Secret Sister Swap

I hope that everyone is having a wonderful April so far.  Today I am going to share with you February-March's Secret Sister round.  It was another fun one since I was paired up with my friend Mary.  We have never met each other by our love for God and card making has made us kindred spirits.  When we KIT in our e-mails it seems like we have known each other for years.  Well without too much more jabbering here is the card that made for her.

I made a card that is similar to this one for another friend.  It is in a different color and I added a Japanese girl.

This is how both of the cards would look if they were open.

This is the pretty card that she sent to me.

Before I end this post I wanted to share with you where my friend Carol and I went to visit a week ago.  We went shopping at the Marker Pop warehouse.  We love shopping in their online store so we thought it would be fun to go shopping at their warehouse.  Although we expected it to be a lot bigger than it was we still had a lot of fun and purchase some cool products.

They have sale products from some of my favorite stamp companies- The Greeting Farm, Lawn Fawn, Avery Elle, and My Favorite Things. Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!
