Lilo, Mickey, and Some Vacation Pictures

Today I did not feel very well off and on.  Thankfully starting this evening I am feeling much better and am ready to do some crafting.  Before I get myself set up to craft I wanted to be sure to write my post for this week.  Today I am going to post a picture of the tea swap from last month that had the optional theme of making a card that has to do with a movie or a song.  As soon as I saw that theme the movie "Lilo and Stitch" came to mind since I love making Hawaiian themed cards.  This is the card that I came with that resembles Lilo's dress for my swap partner Sandy.

Here is the RAK that I sent to her along with two tea bag.

Sandy made me a cute Disney themed card

and sent me these awesome stickers.

Before I end this post here are some pictures of the trip that my family and I went on two weeks ago to King's Canyon and Sequoia National Park.  We had a great time away enjoying God's beautiful creation.  We loved seeing all the giant trees, playing in the snow, and seeing water fall.

When we weren't high up in the mountains we had a good time visiting with sheep, horses, and cows.  Their Hobby Lobby's and Michaels are lots of fun to shop at.  We got to eat at two restaurants that we don't have at home- A&W and Long John Silver's. We also drove by the headquarters of JoAnn's.  I wonder if it is possible to have a tour of the headquarters.  Next time I will have to find out.  :) The areas that we visited were very small towns and do not have as many restaurants and things to do like where we live.  After being there made us more grateful for where we live.  Thanks for stopping by!

A Bee Themed Gift and Card

Happy weekend!  I am so happy that it is the weekend.  Last week was a very busy and stressful week.  I thank the Lord for getting me through it in one piece and for using different people in my life to remind me that He is in control and that everything will be okay.  Friday was the last day for one of my bosses.  One of my other bosses told me that she likes bees.  So I made her two bee magnets and three bee clips. (The bees are buttons that I purchased from Walmart.  I clipped the back so that the button would be flat.

I made her this card.  Like the card said "She will BEE missed."  (The bees are from a Stampin Up stamp set that retired awhile ago.)

I tried downloading pictures from our trip last weekend to this blog posts several times but for some reason it says the server is rejecting them.  I will try to download them again next time. Sorry.  For now, thanks for dropping by!

A Card and Gift for a Dear Friend's Birthday

I hope that everyone is doing well. My family and I just back a few hours ago from a 3 day trip to Sequioa National Park and King's Canyon.  We had a nice and relaxing time away.  Stay tune for some beautiful pictures in my next post/  :)  For today before I turn in for the night I would like to share with you what I made and put together for one of my dear friends for her birthday.  Here is the card that I made for her using one of my new stamp sets.

The eskimos are my friend and I.  I decided that it would be fun to wrap up her gift using an Asian theme.  I saw the idea to wrap up gifts from Martha Steward using Asian newspaper.  For the first part of her gift I used a flower magnet from Daiso to put in the center and added some gold string and a red strip.

For the second part of her gift I just decided to keep it simple.

I like how both of the gift wrappings turned out.  I was a bit bummed though that I decided to make my friend her card before I wrapped her gift.  If I did it the other way around I would have made an Asian themed card for her. Just to cheer me up a bit my hubby mentioned to me that eskimos are Asian so I did make her an Asian themed card like I wanted to.  He is correct.  Of course don't tell him that though.  LOL!  Thanks for stopping by!  I hope that everyone had a good weekend and will have a blessed week ahead.
